Spring Upgrade: Front Entry Transformed with a New Composite Deck

The Problem;

As winter starts to wind down here in Ohio, many homeowners are already thinking ahead to how they’ll use their outdoor space when the weather breaks.

For this project, the front entry of the home was outdated and lacked both function and curb appeal. The existing staircase and sidewalk had seen better days, and the layout didn’t provide a comfortable or inviting space to enter or spend time.

That’s where we stepped in.

We began by removing the existing front entrance staircase and sidewalk, clearing the way for a completely new layout. From there, we constructed a brand-new front deck designed for both style and everyday use.

Materials & Build Details

This deck was built using pressure-treated framing for structural integrity, secured with carriage bolts for long-term strength. The surface features low-maintenance composite decking, paired with a white vinyl railing system for durability and a clean, finished look.

For the surface, we installed composite decking, giving the homeowner a low-maintenance solution that will hold up against the elements year after year.

To complete the look and improve safety, we added a white vinyl handrail system with matching spindles, creating a clean contrast against the home and tying everything together visually.

One of the standout features of this build is how the composite steps flow seamlessly into the siding, creating a polished, integrated finish that feels intentional—not added on.

The Result

What was once just a basic entry point is now:

  • A welcoming front space

  • A safer, more stable structure

  • A place to relax or entertain

  • A major boost in curb appeal

This wasn’t just a repair—it was a complete transformation that improves both how the home looks and how it’s used every day.
