New Basement Bathroom Construction & Laundry Renovation by DLR

At DLR Construction, we specialize in delivering high-quality renovation work that transforms underused spaces into fully functional, beautifully finished areas. For this project, our team was brought in to design and construct a brand-new basement bathroom and upgraded laundry area, built completely from the ground up. What started as an open, unfinished concrete basement is now a clean, modern, code-compliant living space that adds real value to the home.

We began the job by cutting out the concrete, trenching, and installing all new drain lines, water lines, a properly placed stink pipe and a vent-less ventilation system to ensure long-term performance. After rough plumbing was completed, we framed the layout to cleanly separate the vanity area, shower enclosure, and laundry section, creating a clear flow and functional footprint for the homeowner.

To prepare the space for daily use, we installed all new electric, including a dedicated light bar, multiple GFI-protected outlets, switches, and wiring for the bathroom amenities. We added recessed lighting throughout the ceiling to brighten the space and give it a clean, modern feel. The area was fully waterproofed, including the shower pan, shower walls, and the door jamb and framing to protect the surrounding structure from moisture over time.

Inside the shower, we built a sturdy enclosure and installed a waterfall shower head with matching attachments, providing a premium experience. The shower door and wall system were fitted precisely and sealed for maximum durability. Outside the shower, we completed all trim carpentry, drywall finishing, and full painting to deliver a smooth, professional finish.

In the adjoining area, we relocated the laundry setup to an adjacent wall to improve usability and space management. This included running new plumbing lines, installing an updated laundry sink, adding overhead cabinets, and ensuring proper ventilation and electrical connections for both appliances. The new laundry area is not only cleaner and brighter but now offers better storage and workflow.

To finish the basement bathroom, our team laid ceramic tile flooring, installed the vanity matched to the laundry appliances, and completed all cosmetic and functional touches needed to finalize the room. Every material, measurement, and installation choice was made to ensure long-term durability and a fresh, updated look. This project is a perfect example of how DLR Construction approaches every job.
