At DLR, we build decks across Northeast Ohio that are designed to last—and built to stand out. This project blends durable materials with clean, intentional design, resulting in a space that performs structurally while elevating the home’s exterior.

Planning ahead was a key part of this build. We integrated electrical access and reinforced the framing with additional girder support, allowing for a future hot tub without needing structural modifications later.

This deck was constructed on a pressure-treated wood foundation, engineered for long-term stability. The surface features composite decking with a defined accent border and perimeter board, creating a sharp, finished edge that frames the entire build.

Instead of standard lattice, we installed a custom vinyl board-and-batten skirting system. The result is a cleaner, more architectural look that stays low-maintenance over time.

The surrounding patio area was reworked to improve both grade and usability—lifted, leveled, and sealed to create a subtle retaining edge that supports the deck visually and structurally. Composite steps complete the layout, providing smooth, durable access throughout the space.

With 4-foot-on-center posts and reinforced framing throughout, this project reflects how we approach every build: not just meeting code—but building beyond it.
